I cooked for people again today (salmon fish tacos and margaritas, oh so good!). I went swimming in a pool and got to feel weightless for an hour and hang out with some of my favorite people. I was very very silly, in so many ways. I danced with a man I love to Frank Sinatra in the kitchen. I went on a drive and watched the city lights across the water and talked for a long long time about good, sweet, and wonderful things with the man I love. It was quite a magical day.
These boys know whats up. They always have and always will.

”I know that we are all made out of shipwrecks, every single board
washed and bound like crooked teeth on these rocky shores
so come on and let’s wash each other with tears of joy and tears of grief
and fold our lives like crashing waves and run up on this beach
come on and sew us together, tattered rags stained forever
we only have what we remember ”
Dear Self,
Summer is coming soon, and you know what that means, it is time for you to make a list
Summer 2012
-start going through Julia Child’s cookbook, it will be good for your soul.
-ride your bike everywhere, you have absolutely no reason not to, in fact you have to cause your bus pass is expired and you don’t have a car.
-don’t force yourself to run, you don’t have to be a runner, if you want to ride your bike because it feels like flying and running feels like getting stabbed with knives then by all means ride your bike.
-go to yoga, you know how good you feel after its done.
-go on evening walks and listen to the wind in the trees, get bug bites if you must and don’t go inside till the sun goes down.
-stomp around in the mountains, a ton!
-camp. kayak. swim. be freeeeeee.
-Bake pies, so many damn pies.
-Go blackberry picking, you will feel like a character from a Laura Ingalls Wilder novel
-Read to Kill a Mockingbird, John Steinbeck, and many other wonderful things
-Look at the stars, never cease to have wonder
-Cook for your friends, have them over, play music together, and eat, drink and be merry.
-Go to outdoor concerts and movies. dance dance dance
-look people in the eye, sit on the roof with them, care for them, and love big.
-farmer’s markets, fresh veggies, free samples for days!
-go home to California, be lazy and take full advantage of your parent’s panini maker
-go to tahoe, be lazy, get way too tan, play cards, and jump in that freezing water
-ask questions, learn, and wonder. Always cling to His hope and not too shame.
A Promise.
On that day
they will say to Jerusalem,
“Do not fear, Zion;
do not let your hands hang limp.
17 The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”
18 “I will remove from you
all who mourn over the loss of your appointed festivals,
which is a burden and reproach for you.
19 At that time I will deal
with all who oppressed you.
I will rescue the lame;
I will gather the exiles.
I will give them praise and honor
in every land where they have suffered shame.
20 At that time I will gather you;
at that time I will bring you home.
I will give you honor and praise
among all the peoples of the earth
when I restore your fortunes[a]
before your very eyes,”
says the Lord.
(Zephaniah 3:16-20)
